Workshops

& Seminars

I periodically offer workshops and seminars, often in advance of seasonal shifts.

See below for the current offerings:

The Four Diaphragms

  • The four major diaphragms in the torso work together to facilitate breathing, regulate our organ function, and when working well, they can help address pain, strain and stress throughout the entire body.  This limited-run course focuses on each of the diaphragms (the soft palate, the shoulder girdle, the respiratory diaphragm and the pelvic floor), with a mindful practice each week, and access to online discussion to get your questions answered.

The course includes:

  • 4 weekly hour-long practices focusing on each diaphragm in greater depth (live stream and recorded)

  • The recordings of these sessions (whether you can attend the live sessions or not)

  • Membership in a private online support forum to discuss the practices from the course

Date: 3 - 24 April 2021

Time: 2pm EST (11am PST)

Duration: 1 Hour Classes on Saturdays

Location: Online Live Stream via Zoom (Recordings Provided)

Investment: CAD$125 (+ taxes for Canadian residents)

The Pelvic Floor Seminar

Duration: 2 hours (30 minutes of anatomy simulation and context, 60 minutes of gentle practice based in somatics and breath work, and a final 30 minute Q&A).

Location: Online Live Stream via Zoom

Investment: Free to attend the live stream, $49 (tax included) for the recordings and written resources.

Working with your pelvic floor can be painful and stressful.  Maybe even the term "pelvic floor" sets your teeth on edge.  Well, it doesn't have to be that way.   Your pelvic floor is a type of structure called a diaphragm, and it's one of four major diaphragms in your torso.  They work as a team, so when you improve the function in the other three, you will automatically get the benefit in your pelvic floor as well.  That integration of all four diaphragms is the main focus of this seminar.  We'll work on increasing your ability to feel what's going on in your body, finding new ways to get your mind, body, and breath synced up well.

I created this seminar specifically for people who are working with pelvic floor challenges, and want to try a unique approach to support that work.  You can do this work anytime, on its own, or add it to any pre-existing routines.  I know that working on this part of our bodies can sometimes feel invasive and aggressive, so it's important to me  that our approach effectively decrease bracing and stress in your system, in the moment.  My experience has shown me that bigger, more lasting effects come from increasing awareness, rather than aggressively trying to fix what you find.

Join me, and feel free to reach out with any questions in advance of the seminar.

Individual TARE Seminars

TARE stands for: The Atmospheric Re-Entry Seminar.  “Tare” is also another word for a re-set, starting from now.  Acknowledging where you’ve been, where you are and planning your direction from here.

This 75 minute extended private consultation is tailored to your needs.

I can see people live or remotely for 6 of these seminars during the listed dates.

Secure yours at anytime.

Using your authentic voice

Diving into vocal work can help you and your team communicate more clearly, give information with a clear voice while navigating the stress or anxiety of presentations, convey meaning without straining or injuring your voice, remain authentic while conveying information you have talked about a thousand times, and gain and retain the courage to remain present while standing in front of a group of people.  This seminar addresses all these concerns.

In this seminar, I work with you and your group to clarify intention through the voice, I share techniques and approaches to speak free of strain, maintain the health of your voice apparatus, and help to build or develop your command of the room.  I limit the number of participants, to be able to give more personal attention.

This course includes:

- Half day & full day options

- All handouts and supplies

- Participant access to me for questions and processing up to one month post-seminar

- When offered via live stream, a recording of the seminar.

Duration: 3 or 6 hours

Location: At your location (when safety protocols allow), or via Zoom

Investment: $525 (3 hour)                                $900 (6 hour)

“Endless thanks for the engaging, informative, and inspiring seminar!  I had many 'ah ha' moments and revelations; my work will be forever changed.  Sharing your enthusiasm and gift in voice training completely shifted my awareness of this crucial medium that is rarely 'taught'.  Even though I considered myself a fairly confident and effective communicator, you provided a sea of value that is a real game-changer.  I will be recommending you to my peers and colleagues!

“I really enjoyed the movement warms ups at the beginning and was quite fascinated by the individual work and training my ear while listening to others.  The question period at the end of class was also immensely helpful.  Thanks so much for staying late to address our individual experiences.  You provided so much variety and effective exercise.  Thank you again!”
