32 OCTAVES

The Earth sings. It makes a sound 32 Octaves below the threshold of our hearing.

This piece was commissioned by Annie Lefebvre and John Felice Ceprano for an outdoor performance at the Remic Rapids on the Ottawa River, amidst Ceprano’s balanced rock sculptures on the shores of the river. Taking advantage of wind, rain, water, rock and air, 32 Octaves meditates on our connection to the earth, and our fear and yearning to unite with it.
